These two cards I made for fun as well, they'll go into the "stash" box to be used when needed. To be honest with you, that is mostly the way I make cards. With no one in particular in mind, just feel like colouring, or being alone. I'm pretty much left alone when I'm up in my craft room. I get rather grumpy when I'm interrupted, since I get such a little time to do it, and they are beginning to understand that. So today, its Kraftin Kimmie and Lily of the Valley.

My Daughter loves me!!

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge--Frilly

Hello! Spring has finally arrived in Southwestern Ontario...I even got out in the garden yesterday. I enjoy playing in the dirt as much as playing in my craftroom....which I have also been able to do. Love that short month between semesters!

I have two cards today, the first is for this week's challenge (frilly cards), and the other was meant for a past challenge (getting stripey), which I never managed to get posted in time. I think I made it when I was taking a break from studying for my Stats exam (cardmaking is therapy for me, clears the cobwebs, if you know what I mean).

So this one is one of the new fairies released this month. I never remember the names of these lovely ladies, and the computer is not (unfortunately) in my craftroom. I'm loving the smaller size of these stamps...you can embellish a little more. I made this flower using an MFT dienamics die, and sprayed it with some clear glimmer mist, then rolled it in some red glimmer mist to colour the edges a little. The lace centre is my "frilly"...I'm really not a frilly kind of girl, hope its enough.

This little lady is doing something I use to love doing...before I went back to school. Somehow reading because you have to is not nearly as much fun as reading because you want to:(

Is It Spring Yet?

Remember last week I blogged about two dismal days of rain...well be careful what you wish for as they say...the next morning this is what we woke to...and yet another snow day (grand total this year=7), I don't ever remember 7 snow days in one year. We have had snow pretty much all weekend, and this week clever Mr. Weatherman is calling for warmer weather and sudden thaws...Awesome is all I can say! Any how, these pics are so pretty, I thought I'd blog them for posterity.

Lily of the Valley--Happy Birthday

Good Morning!
I just crawled into bed after a crazy night at work...the flu bug is working its way through our building with a vengeance...and I always have trouble sleeping after an especially busy night. So, I'm posting a card I made last week. It was Reading Week so I found myself with no homework to do and a little bit of time. How awesome is that?

This birthday card was made for no one in particular...I just so love the image. I'm fast becoming addicted to Lily of the Valley stamps. They are just so darn adorable. Have you seen the new animals release? So cute...I feel a shopping spree coming on.

And this is just a close up of the image, I used clear glitter and then added some pretty blue sprinkles to her skirt...I am happy with the way it turned out.

I'll do a little more bloghopping this morning and then hopefully get some sleep before I have to pick up the kids from school. The weather here is absolutely dismal today, it is still raining (two days and nights pretty much non-stop)...if it keeps up much longer, people are going to start building arks.

Any how, hope the weather where you are is sunny and bright.

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge -- Scallops

Morning!
Southern Ontario has been blasted with some strange weather again this weekend. First, more snow...then, last night it warmed up enough to rain...only to get cold, very cold, again. And windy. The roads are like ice rinks. Perfect. I keep looking in my garden for my snow whites to come up...a sure sign that spring will indeed come this year. Nothing yet, but I'll take a pic when they do. If you are in Southern Ontario, you'll be happy to see them. We have not had a winter like this in a long while.

My card this week is using Miles the Mouse. These are so fun. If you don't have any you really should get some, they are fun and easy to color up.

I've had this paper for quite a while. When I first saw it, I had to have it. I thought it was so cute. Then, as happens a lot in my craft room, I put it away because I couldn't bear to cut it. Today though, I did. I stamped Miles' boots on a couple of the boots on the paper, and paper pieced them onto the colored imaged, then put some glaze on them to make them look shiny like rubber boots do. I've showed the inside this time, which I don't usually do. I think it sort of makes the card...it looks like Miles is quite happy in his fancy boots, dancing in the rain.

Teddy Bea Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day...hope you are having a romantic one:) The Valentine card I made for Lexi was discovered...she's pretty hard to keep a secret from...so I made another. Hope she likes this one. The image is adorable, I had to add an extra bee because I smudged some ink on the cardfront when I was putting the inside together...looks ok though.

Kraftin Kimmie - Seeing Red

Seeing Red...not so hard to do around this time of the year. This card is for my husband...I will not reveal what I wrote on the inside, little personal, but I think he'll like it;) This picture is not very good, no matter how I played, I just couldn't get the colours right...her stockings are actually a very light pink, but look totally white here. Its a bummer really, because they look better pink. Oh well, say la vie!

The weather here in Southern Ontario is absolutely freezing! It snowed a bit this morning, but stopped fairly quickly. Thank goodness, I am tired of the cold wet stuff. The roads are filthy, the cars are filthy...I swear I go through a bottle of windshield washer fluid every week.

Enough groaning...gotta run.

More Snow!! And another card for the heck of it.

We have absolutely had an awesome Canadian winter this year! The kids had 5 snow days in December alone, and are off again today. It is just a lovely soft snowfall now, which I hope you can see in my pics...but last night was another story...overnight we were slammed with almost 30cm of the white stuff and the wind was blowing so hard, I thought the roof was going to blow off! It is so beautiful, don't you think. I know some people don't like it, it makes driving difficult, etc., but I think its fun. Especially with four-wheel drive....plowing through snow drifts is a blast!! My kids think I'm an idiot, my husband says my suspension will go to pot...oh well, I'm having fun!

Here is another Lily of the Valley card I made for fun. I am not especially happy with it, the flower behind the sentiment looks like the sun, and that isn't really what I was going for. Its done though, so its posted.

I'm off to the dentist (yuck)...but at least I'm getting out in the weather!

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge...Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Wow, my second post, and second challenge entry this week. Stay-cations are so good for the soul, aren't they? Time to catch up on things that HAVE to be done, and things you WANT to get done. So, I've been playing in my craftroom. I have three cards posted, but only the first is for the challenge....the others were just for fun.

Now, the challenge was to reduce, reuse or recycle. For this I went through my box of diecuts, and found this red tea cup that I made last Christmas (2009), when I got my Gypsy. I cut a lot of things then, but didn't use many of them on projects. And this tea cup was one of them. I was just playing with how to "flip" things over and join them together to make shaped cards. The Bazill Swiss dots cardstock came from my scrap bin, and so did that little scrap of lace that you can hardly see anymore. So, there you have it. Hope it qualifies.

You may have noticed....I bought some of the seam binding, in several colors, that is all the rage now, and I think it is so pretty. I've used some as is, and distressed some.

Yoga Fun and Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar Challenge

Good Morning:
I have just come back from school. My daughter Lexi is doing an experiment at school for her Science Fair Project. She is teaching basic Yoga exercises, but more importantly, breathing exercises to 11 of her classmates. So for the next two weeks, I will go every morning to help supervise, and to make sure they are all doing things correctly. Today is day 2....its really fun. The kids (both boys and girls) are really trying. They were all hand-picked by the teacher, and the idea is to see if the focus on breathing and how it affects mind-body-spirit, changes how these kids handle situations in school. Two weeks is a short time to do this, but realistically, thats all we can do, so she can have the project ready in time for the Science Fair. My children and I have been doing Yoga for some time now, in an effort to prevent injuries during sports....which both of them have been having trouble with this year. Jonah sublexed his knee cap in basketball, and is currently going to physiotherapy as well. Lexi is troubled with a shoulder injury from swimming (miscounted and hit the wall during the backcrawl). And its good for me too, win-win, right!?

Ok...so, now on to my cards for today.

This Valentine's card was made with the Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar challenge in mind. Which is "going dotty", if I remember correctly. Not much in the way of dots, but there are some on the ribbon, so I think it qualifies. I made this one with Lexi in mind, and will slip it in her lunchbox on Valentine's Day with some yummies. She loves that.
The trick now will be to keep it hidden from her until then.

This card, another Magnolia, I made Lexi for her birthday but never got posted. I decided I'd take a pic, since I had the camera out today. She was really happy with it. First time I used the banner, and I like it. Kind of fun.

Prairie Fairies--Gillian

I colored these up this week, haven't been feeling completely up to snuff, and decided playing in the craftroom was just the medicine I needed. Darn cold is still lingering, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Anyways, I saw Gillian while I was bloghopping and just fell in love with her. So, of course, being me, I had to go get some. They are digital images and so fun to color up.

This little valentine is so sweet, don't you think? I colored her in traditional pinks, etc. for Valentine's Day. Lexi has already seen her, so maybe my mum will get this one.

Nurse Gillian is probably my favorite. I am a nurse, so this one hits home...although I'm not sure what she plans to do with that needle AND a bedpan?! Don't you just love her crocs?

This lovely young lady is called Pretty Gillian, and so she is.

Kraftin Kimmie Valentine's Card

I think Kraftin Kimmie stamps are my new favorites! They are so awesome, and fun to color. I rarely color any of them up using pastels, or soft colors, they seem to scream out for brightness, boldness and bling!! Talk about fun!

This particular card features Willard, with a bee on his nose. I have kept this card fairly "blingless", as it was made for my son to give to his girlfriend, and he doesn't like it when I make them too "girly". Although, in my defense, she IS a girl, right?! And it IS for her, not him...right?! Anyway, I think it qualifies for this week's challenge, as Willard is carrying a bunch of roses, and there are some blossoms on the paper (an old Basic Grey valentine collection...may even have been just last year).

Lily of the Valley

Okay...I'm probably the worst blogger in the world. I made 57 different Christmas Cards this year and blogged very few of them. I seem to get them done "just in time", and off they go to their intended destinaton. No pics, no blogging. Actually, if I think about it, most of my life runs that way right now. Working nights is beginning to take it's toll on me, I feel tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I get. I am just this week starting my second year of undergraduate studies, and the kiddies seem busier than ever....I love that, but it does get exhausting. Now enough of my griping, and on to a couple of cards I was able to make on the weekend, and take pics of today.

Thanksgiving weekend is always a favorite around our house...I host dinner every year, and have done for about 10 years (ever since my mother in law served us meatloaf for Thanksgiving dinner one year....that is soooo wrong....must have turkey and ham and mashed potatoes and sweet potatoe casserole, etc., etc.) So, every year we get a few extra people, someone whose family is away, or has no family to go to, friends who just don't want to be alone. I love that. To me that is what it is all about...being thankful for what you have, and sharing it. So, for dinner this year I will be feeding 34 souls and loving it.

In the spirit of all things fall, I have made a couple of cards. I make invitations for everyone every year, and it usually takes two or three tries before I find the one I like and can mass produce fairly easily. These two I am happy with, but were too fussy and were not used. I have no pics yet of the one I sent this year, but will post them when I get a minute.

This first one is, of course, a Magnolia. She is so cute. Love Magnolias.

This one is a digistamp from Sassy Cheryl's...she makes adorable snowmen, and when I saw these I was sure they would work, alas, the coloring and shading just took too much time to make a couple of dozen of them. So there is only this lonely one. Ain't it cute?

Celebrating Babies and Soccer Coaches

Good Morning: I've been busy this morning...little bit of laundry, little bit of tidying and a little bit of cardmaking. Which, I don't think I have to tell you, is my favorite part. I have a busy weekend coming up also. I have a baby shower to go to on Friday for a friend at work....we were going to do it later in the month, but she is looking just about ready to burst these days, and we are afraid we'll be too late if we wait any longer....so, potluck and baby shower at work on Friday night. Saturday, Jonah has his quarter-final challenge cup game, and a picnic/bonfire here afterwards. Sunday, Lexi's Challenge Cup winning team will be here for their end of year party. Sleep you ask? I'm not sure....maybe next week some time. LOL.

So, this first card is for my friend Susan. She isn't sure if it is a boy or a girl, so I tried to be generic, although I think it still looks kind of "girly". I used October Afternoon, Ducks in a Row papers and accessories, Prima "Say it in Pearls, and a button from my stash. Inside it says "It was the tiniest thing I ever decided to put my whole life into--Terri Guillemets." I did take a pic of it, but it was really out of focus.

These next two pics are of the cards I made for Lexi's soccer coaches...who were awesome. They took a hodge-podge group of teenage girls, and turned them into a champion soccer team! Way to go Vicki and Jared!! I used my Cricut to cut the soccer ball (Sports Mania Cartridge), Bazill Basics Cardstock, October Afternoon PP (from the Delovely collection), and Making Memories puffy Alphas. Not fancy, but they came together quick, which I needed.

Sassy Cheryl's Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

Hello There:

This card I made using only smooth white cardstock...nothing fancy, just the stuff I buy at Walmart to use on the inside of my cards, except the cardstock I printed the digi stamp onto, that's Neenah Smooth. I colored with Copics, and used some glaze to make the ornaments look shiny. Then dry embossed with my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder, and popped this up on some foam tape to make it more dimensional. I saw this almost totally white card idea somewhere in my blog surfing, and liked it so much I decided to try it. I tried to find it again to give her credit, but couldn't. I think it looks really cool, and makes the tree stand out. So, thank you, wherever you are.

My Elusive Son

Our oldest son, Josh, as I have said before is very camera shy these days, he actually gets mad at us if we snap one of him...however, he has a cousin who dabbles in photography and together they set out to an abandoned farmhouse behind our place to snap some pics. These he posed for. This is one of my favorites, sort of vintage looking, and actually, sort of Josh. Typical teenager trying to find his way in the world. He's an awesome kid, very politically aware, volunteers with the homeless, and intolerant of "consumerism" as he calls it. I can't wait to see what kind of man he'll be.

Lily of the Valley Christmas

Well, if you live in Southern Ontario, you know that the unbearable heat is finally gone, but the muggy, heavy air remains. Two of my kids have environmental allergies, and so the A/C stays on. I am really starting to feel desperate to air out the place. Anyhow, I'll stop complaining and get on to the business at hand.

Still working on Christmas cards I'm afraid, although my order from Kraftin Kimmie's came in, and I am coloring up a couple of really cool Halloween images which I hope to post soon.
This first card is a new LOTV stamp I ordered this year....I felt the need to get something different, I have a lot of Magnolia and WOJ Christmas stamps....so I ordered some of these and they are adorable. I distressed this a bit with Distress Ink, and I think the pearl swirl looks just right with these MME papers (again, last year's). Lots of stickles all over the place too, which I tend to use a lot...predictable even when doing something different:(

This card is another LOTV stamp, with some of Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses paper. I love the pinks and blues for Christmas. Can't wait to see what's coming this year.

Kraftin Kimmie Christmas

These are our two youngest kiddies...Lexi, and Jonah (who would not be happy at all to know that I called him "kiddie"). We also have an older son who is very camera shy these days, and usually takes off quickly when the camera comes out...once in a while I get lucky, but not often, and not this summer yet at all. Although, to be fair, he was gone for 6 weeks of it...and man was I glad when he came home.

This card is another Kraftin Kimmie stamp...they are my favorites right now. And just when I think they can't possibly get any cooler...they do. Have you seen the Halloween stamps yet?...to die for my friends. Mine came in the mail today and I can hardly wait to start coloring...too bad there is that pesky thing called "dinner" I have to cook first. I used some Imaginesce papers from last year, and Martha Stewart snowflake punches with a generous dusting of glitter. The snowflake brads are pewter, bought them last year and never opened the bag...so here they are. The way I see it, the people I send the cards to really don't know what was last year's stuff and what is "in" right now, so it doesn't matter if I use my old stuff...right?

And another. Again, using some old paper, and again, I don't know who makes it. I used Flower Soft on the bottom of her skirt and buttons, and then put just a little bit of stickles to make it pop.

The weather in Southern Ontario is absolutely gorgeous today, just perfect for a soccer game. So its dinner, soccer and some coloring for me tonight.

Sassy Cheryl's Digi-stamps for Christmas

I found the Sassy Cheryl's site quite by accident one night while blog-hopping, and could not resist her snowmen. I only bought three at the time, but see myself going back for more...they are so cute!!! I am a snowman addict, and can't resist them. I have used all paper from last Christmas season, or even earlier, as I haven't seen much in the way of new paper out yet...still kind of early I guess, but my next semester starts on September 15, so the more I get done now, the better.

This one is called Lady snowman, I love her. Easy to color up, and this card pattern I picked up somewhere, and use it over and over. I quite like it.

These Cosmo papers from last year are so vibrant and fun...just like the snowman!

Last, but not least...Mr. handing out candy canes...I usually pick out papers before I start coloring, but this night I was watching a movie, and coloring to keep busy (otherwise I fall asleep), and just picked colors I liked, only to discover I had no Christmas paper to match...save this one scrap of very old paper, I don't even know what company makes it...it was in the MISC box. It works though, so I'm happy, even if it is old.

So, Merry Christmas in August.

Some Kraftin Kimmie Cards...

I colored this one up almost as soon as this yummy kit arrived in the mailbox. These mermaids are just so much fun! I colored her with Copics and used some stickles to give her fins some shimmer. I can't remember where the paper is from, it was something I had in my stash.

I soooooo love this image...I think she is one of my favorites so far...Goldilocks!! Again, I colored her with Copics, alone this time, I usually use my Prismas with Gamsol to shade and add dimension. I find that look better than using just Copics alone. I keep watching tutorials online and practicing, but the Prismas just seem to nail it for me anyway.

And this card I made for a Kraftin Kimmie challenge some time ago, but never posted, lucky enough to find an hour or so to play, not enough to take pics, edit, post, etc. So it was just for fun. Colored it with Copics, and used October Afternoon papers I think. October Afternoon, Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket tend to be my favs, but I'm not a paper snob, and will use anything that catches my fancy.

I am so loving having some time to make some cards...sort of therapeutic I think. It seems to soothe my soul, I feel so peaceful when I'm up in my craftroom. Although that quickly dissipates when I see all the other things that are being neglected while I'm playing. Oh well...this too, shall end I suppose, and work and school will take precedence again.

I think I'm going to try again...

Good morning! I have been a very bad blogger...not posting in almost a year...life happens, right? I was working full time nights, going back to school, and still trying to be mom, wife, chief cook, etc. The whole thing wasn't working for me. My garden is an absolute disaster, can't seem to find the time to get in it and make any difference. I was making cards only when I absolutely needed one, and usually at the last minute with little creativeness going on at all. So, anyway, I know I'm pretty much alone here...don't get much in the way of visitors, because I don't have time to enter any challenges, which is how you get noticed. However, I thought that since I have made some changes here at home, gone back to part time work (although still the graveyard shift), and my next semester doesn't start again until Sept. 15. I have rejoined my exercise class, and am beginning to feel human again. Amazing how wonderful exercise makes you feel. I should be able to find some time to post. Even if it is just to record the things that I make, and the crazy busy life that I live. So, on that note, no pics today....but I will take some today and post them soon. Maybe, if this heat and humidity lets up, I might get my garden cleaned up for fall. If you are looking, and reading, thanks so much. Otherwise, I'll do this for me. Shirley.

FINALLY!!!

I have finally started to work on some Christmas Cards...no easy task around here these days. This cute Country Snowman stamp is from High Hopes, and I love him! Colored with Copics an some glitter and stickles to enhance. Bazill Cardstock, and the red paper is from my stash, and I have no idea who made it...it has been there a long time!

An old Magnolia image, which I bought at "The Stampe Shoppe" (see icon in my sidebar), and which I think is so cute. I just bought her, but I think she is vintage. Colored with Copics, and the patterned paper is Basic Grey's new "Eskimo Kisses" collection. So cute. Bazill Cardstock, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, and some stickles. The rubon sentiment is Imaginesce. I also used some Nesties for the oval shapes.

This card is a Thank you card for a friend of mine, who took my youngest daughter in, and gave her a fun Halloween this year. I was working and couldn't do it for her, first time since she was born. She is 12 now and this was probably her last year trick-or-treating, so I really appreciated my friend's efforts. I used MME patterned paper, a Martha Stewart punch, MME glitter letters, and ribbon from Michael's.

Picture quality is not so great today, it is sooo windy today, the cards just kept blowing over, so I had to move indoors.

I have been doing some coloring, but haven't yet been able to put one card together in a while. I am beginning to suffer from withdrawal. Magnolia #20: Ribbons and Bows

I ordered the Fall Magnolia Stamp Club kit this year and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived last week already. So, I've used one on this week's submission. I colored her with Copics, and used some new October Afternoon patterned paper. Bazill CS; charm from "The Beadery"; ribbons from Michael's; button from Basic Grey; pearls from Kaiser; and the sentiment came with the Magnolia set. After I took the pics I realized the color of the red ribbon is a bit off...too late to fix it without scrapping the whole project...so I'm going to have to go with the flow this time...not always easy for me. (I did actually try to fix it...type A personality...thats me...) LOL.

Anyway, I used a sketch I saw on "All the things I love". It was so cute I wanted to try it. It was fun to use, and will definitely go into my "use again" binder.

Christmas Cards!!

I bought this Motivet stamp as soon as I saw it...I figured it would make a great card for a Hockey Coach. It is so cute! And believe it or not, this paper is actually Christmas paper. It is Colorful Christmas from MME. The sentiment stamp is also Motivet. I used Bazill CS; Hero Arts felt snowflakes; pearls from Katie's pearls and brad from my stash. I'm not sure it turned out "manly" enough for a coach...but it is definitely "boyish". What d'ya think?

These next three cards are downloads from Mo's Digital Pencil Too. I thought it would be fun to do them as a set. Maybe I'll donate them for sale at the school's Christmas Bazaar. I so love Mo's images, fun to color and lend themselves so easily to cardmaking.

I have used Bazill CS; DCWV Christmas PP from last season; pearls from Katy's Cards; Martha Stewart snowflake punch; Fiskars border punch; ribbon, mini-bells and rhinestones from Michael's. I think thats everything.

Busy washing quilts and linens today...weather is beautiful today but definitely feeling "Fallish", and I feel the need to clean everything before the winter sets in. The windows are next...not my favorite job:( I feel very lucky to have gotten some cardmaking in this week.

Just Magnolia Sketch & Paperplay Challenge

Quiet afternoon here...thank goodness!! I finished my Just Magnolia card early in the week...not sure I'll get to any crafting later in the week. This week Rachel posted a sketch for us to follow...which I did pretty closely.
I used Bazill Swiss Dot CS; MME PP; Tilda; gems and twine from Michael's; unknown flowers; buttons from Walmart, and Tilda holding a birthday cake...of course.

I have a blogging-buddy in Ireland who is on the DT for Paperplay Challenge and I have been meaning to give it a try for some time now...today I finally did. I used this beautiful image from Mo's Digital Pencil (photo icon in my sidebar...just click on it and it will take you right there). It is called "End of Summer", and I think she is so cute!! Makes me wish it wasn't raining here today so I could go into my garden to do the same thing:)
I have used Little Yellow Bicycle and Imaginesce PP; Bazill CS; pearls from Katy's pearls; and colored the image with my (far too few) Copics, and did the water coloring for the grass and sky with tombows and water.

2S4U Kazan's Sketch #33

It has been a very long while since I was able to play with a sketch...and next month I start a full-time night position, (time to start thinking about university...it is only 2 years away for us)so I don't know how much crafting I'm going to be able to do. There will probably be an "adjustment period" for us...I'm going to need to reorganize. Anyhow...I whipped this one up yesterday before Lexi's birthday party. I thought I'd slip it into her backpack on the first day of school...with a little note from Mom inside. My boys are both in high school and will not thank me for "love notes". So, lucky Lexi gets them all!!
I used Bazill Swiss Dot CS; October Afternoon (Cherry Hill) PP and die cuts; Kaiser bling;ribbon and twine from Michaels; Basic Grey button,Doodlebug alphas; and my Cricut: Storybook cart.

Here are the girls in their "sunglasses"...it was a sleepover, and my family room is completely upside down now...so I need to get cleaning!! Before I do though, I just want to brag a little....

Lexi's soccer team has struggled all season, here you see them after their second Challenge Cup game...Caitlin (on the right) scored the winning goal, after Lexi (in the middle) carried the ball accross the field and crossed it from the corner to just the right spot in front of the net! So, so fun to watch!! So they are off to the quarter finals on Monday...which we never expected. How cool is that!

Just Magnolia Challenge #18

The challenge this week was "friends"...and this is my entry. I saw this sketch on one of the blogs I visited while on a night shift (an unusually quiet one). I drew it out in my notebook but didn't write down where it came from...so if you are visiting and recognize the sketch, please let me know, I'll give credit where it is due. Anyway, I loved it, and even used some distressing, which I rarely do.

Tilda is colored with Copics, but I didn't have the right shade of green, so I went over her hat and blouse with Prismas and Gamsol. I used orange stickles on her hat and blouse, and pink stickles on the butterflies. The CS is Bazill, and the PP is Cosmo Cricket--Girl Friday. Ribbon, twine, buttons and "bling" are all from Michaels. I used the Martha Stewart Flower lace punch, and I did a lot of sewing on this card...I love sewing on cards.

This poor card has been sitting on my desk, unfinished for a few days...I was going to use it for the Stamp Shoppe August Challenge, but find it doesn't really fit...but I'm glad it is done just the same. I found these K & Co papers at Michael's recently and loved them! (Despite my resolve not to buy any more paper, I caved! I am so weak!)

I have a friend who is "down in the dumps" and thought I'd send this to her...hopefully it will cheer her up, even if just for a moment.

I do not usually make Halloween Cards...I'm not sure any of my kids will even go trick or treating this year...however, when I saw this image on Mo's Digital Pencil website, I just had to try it. (If you click on the picture to the right, it will take you there.) It is the first time I have ever tried a digital stamp, and it has been a long time since I used my brayer...as you can see when you look at my less than perfect night sky. It was fun though...and a lot of work so I've decided to post it...imperfections and all.

I don't often make boys cards, but I got this really cool paper at Homesense last week and it just begs to be made into boy's cards. (I think anyways!) So I have followed the sketch pretty well except that I just didn't like the 3 elements in the top right corner. No matter what I tried, it just didn't look right...so I left it as is, and just added some extra pearls.

Materials: Bazill CS; DCWV PP; Edwin colored with Copics (still practising); Deja Views sticker; Doodlebug Designs Alpha; and DCWV chipboard accent. No sewing this time...I haven't done that in a while;)

ADVENTURES IN DOG WASHING!!!

Sooo...yesterday, Lexi and DH decided our Carly smelled bad and needed a bath. This may seem a pretty benign task to you out there in blogland, but....our Carly HATES water. Absolutely HATES it. Things look good in this pic...although this is the third time they have had to hook her up...she kept escaping. Its alright though, they are ready to turn on the water.

Carly is tolerating things here, DH and Lexi still look in control. Not bad I'm thinking...maybe I won't get any good pics after all...darn!

Patience always pays off in the end...our Carly didn't disappoint her mommy! Not sure who is actually taking the bath though!

Finally...some cards!!

This is a birthday card I made for a friend of Lexi's...I used my Cricut Life's a Beach Cartridge, which I love. Finally got to play with my birthday presents.

Lexi made this card for me...all by herself. I woke up one afternoon and there it was, sitting on my bedside table. I had an opportunity to take a temporary full time day position...which would be 7am-3pm...more human hours. However...life is so busy here at home that full time just wasn't going to work out. I was very disappointed, as the night shift is really taking its toll on me. Anyway...whining aside...Lexi made this to cheer me up. Which it did, both for her thoughtfulness and her budding talent at cardmaking. Don't you think its awesome?!

This is the birthday party invitation for Lexi's birthday. She wanted cupcakes, so cupcakes it is...now I have to practise making those really pretty and fancifully decorated cupcakes! Not sure how well that is going to go.

And last, but not least, the Thanksgiving invitations for this year. I have to make 20 of these every year, so I start early, first deciding what kind of invitation I'll make, and then making them. I will, of course, try to avoid the glue disaster you see here. Good thing this is only the "prototype".

Cased this card layout from Carla Piecheff...it was just for fun, because I loved what she did with this stamp.

This card I made for last week's sketch challenge at Just Magnolia...but never got around to posting it. Since it is done, I thought I might as well show it. I used a combination of Copics (I finally bought a few...have very limited colors...so I used my Prismas over top). Still practising with copics....nothing like regular markers.

This one was just for fun...playing with Copics again.

FIRST BIRTHDAY!!

I made these two cards in a huge hurry...learned of the birthday party at the last moment...didn't get the email...and had about 15 minutes to make these. So they are very simple, and look very similar...no time for creativity. Oh well, their parents were happy with the cards...the kids just liked the boxes the gifts came in. We bought noisy toys...payback is what I call that!

This is Cole...our second cousin actually. He is definitely a man's boy....very active and always on the go. Although I think this pic captures his "sweet" side.

This is our nephew Hunter...different child altogether. Very quiet and thoughtful. Definitely a ladie's man...

More cards to follow...we finally have some nice weather here so I'll head outside with my cards and camera later, might even have another post today!

Graduating Class of 2009!

I thought I'd share some grad pics with you. My Jonah is in the back row with the dark purple shirt, and the wild blonde hair. (He did have it cut for grad...hard to tell I know...but I do love his long blonde locks!) About half of them have been together in the same class since kindergarten...so graduation was very bittersweet, as they will be scattered throughout the city next year. Two of the girls will return to Korea (foreign exchange students), and one fellow returns to Mexico to be with his family (He came only for grade 8 to learn to speak English, and very quickly became the class clown and everybody's darling!! He will be missed!!)

This is a pic I took of them goofing off at the grad party we held at our place the day after graduation. Much less serious...until about an hour before the party was scheduled to end...then they were very emotional...crying and hugging and sooooooo melodramatic. They had a good day, though, and the rain held off until about a half hour after they were all gone!!

Nothing crafty today...I've been on nights non-stop since coming home from holidays...hopefully this week I can go up to play. I got a couple of new Cricut cartridges for my birthday, and I really want to play with those!!

Sorry for being away so much the last few weeks...no time to think, let alone do any crafting or blog-hopping. The last week of school is always a busy time for us. We have a huge yard and a pool, so class parties usually end up here. This year, Lexi's was on Wednesday, Jonah graduated from grade 8 last night, and then a family party here, and today we are hosting the grade 8 graduation party!! And it is pouring rain, and that is supposed to go on all day! GREAT!! So, should be interesting...22 kids and their parents. Thank goodness for the WII! We leave on vacation tomorrow, gone for 10 glorious days, and then back to some normality. I have stamped some images and am packing them along with my Prismas and gamsol to take along! This is the card for the French teacher at end of year. My kids really love their French teacher...although none of them loves "French" all that much. Here are some Track and Field day pics of my babies...Lexi is doing running long jump...made first standard, but is not going to regionals for it...she will do the 400 and 1500m races...great endurance (from all those hours in the pool I'm thinking.) Jonah is doing his best to make a metre 35 in high jump...alas...maybe next year. He will be at regionals cheering his sister on.

Just Magnolia Challenge--Critters

Here is my card for this weeks challenge...which was to use some kind of animal or insect on your card...I have both, so I'm covered. I decided to have a little bit of fun with this one. Materials: Bazill CS; Martha Stewart pp and butterfly punch; Basic Grey pp for the turtle's shell; Cricut From My Garden Cart; Prima gem swirls; Tilda is colored with Prismas and gamsol and some stickles to spice her up.

This card is one of 22 graduation party invitations I made for Jonah's class...the party will be at our place the day after the last day of school. I'm so excited...I love planning and hosting parties...but Jonah has reminded me not to get too "out of hand":) That, however, does not sound like fun at all, so I will have to let you know what the compromise turns out to be. Materials for the card: Bazill CS; Bazill polka dot CS; October afternoon pp; Cricut Wildcard and Plantin Schoolbook Carts; button and twine from my stash.

This card is another one for a teacher at end of year...it is fast approaching, and I have a couple more to make. I used the Cricut Wildcard Cart for the frame; Bazill CS; Martha Stewart pp; Cricut Doodlecharms Cart for the apple; Katy's Cards pearls.

Shaped Magnolia Card (Week #6)

This is my take on this week's challenge. I used Bazill CS; Imaginesce PP; Kaiser gems; Swarovski crystals; sewing machine; Fiskars border punch; Cricut Wildcard Cart; and, of course, Tilda: colored with Prismas and Gamsol and some stickles and Shimmerz for effect. I popped the flowers up to give some dimension to the card.

This is a card I made just for fun...imagine that!! I ordered some Magnolia stamps a while ago, and they finally came in...so of course I had to go right upstairs to play! Bobunny and Doodlebug pp; Kaiser gems; Prisma flowers; Fiskars border punch; sewing machine; buttons, ribbons and prefab card from Michael's.

Magnolia #5 "Be Happy"

Here is my take on this week's sketch. I love, love, love these new papers from Pink Paislee. They are so fun and summery. I also used Bazill CS; Bo Bunny PP; Kaiser flowers; Katy's Cards pearls; gems from Michaels; unknown button; sticker from Deja Views; and my trusty sewing machine; Tilda is colored with Prismas and Gamsol, and some Tombow markers for highlights; and stickles.

I apologize for the picture quality today...very rainy and dreary today in Mossley, so I could not take the pics outside, and I'm back to work tonight, so I wanted to post this morning.

This is another teacher's card, the colors aren't very true in this lighting, and no matter what camera setting I used, it just didn't look right. This was the best one, but really the reds are oranges are much richer. Martha Stewart PP; Bazill CS; AC ribbon; unknown button; Cricut Plantin Schoolbook for the apple; Icon gems; and my sewing machine.

Magnolia Challenge # 4 and a BEAUTIFUL card from a friend!

This week at the Magnolia Challenge the only requirement was to use stitching--either real or faux. Since I love using stitching on cards, I went straight to my Janome and got to work. And this is what I came up with. I stitch up the layers first, since I like the inside of my cards nice and clean.

This card is for one of the teachers, at end of year. I have about 6 of these to make (one in French...for the French teacher, of course!) so I thought since I had some time yesterday, I might as well get started.
Materials: Martha Stewart PP; Bazill CS; Katy's pearls; Cricut DoodleCharms Cart; Cricut Lyrical Letters Cart; stitching by machine.

This is a circle card I did from a sketch on Carla's blog...the circle doesn't stand very well...little heavy on the right side;) Still cute though, and good for a quick note for a friend. The pic isn't that great either...I do like to take pics on the front porch by this plant (Which despite all odds, grows out of a crack in the stone, and comes back every spring to flower for me!), but it is a little dark, and too much leaf in it.

And last, but definitely not least, this is a card I got from my blogging friend in Ireland! She sent me some lovely clear stamps, which I hope to ink up very soon, and some Magnolia and WOJ images. Thank-you so, so much Dei! If you haven't seen her blog yet, you should check it out. "All that glitters" can be found on my blog list to the right. She does wonderful work!

Just Magnolia Challenge #3

This week's sketch was definitely a challenge for me...I tried several different styles, and somehow ended with this...but once I got started it was alot of fun. I definitely took some artistic license with the sketch, but I think you can still see it in there.
Materials: Bazill CS; BoBunny Polkadot PP; unknown PP from my stash; Ribbon from Michaels; Pearls from Katy's; Cricut Expression From the Garden and Storybook Cartridges; Ranger Inks to accent the sunflower and leaves; Fiskars border punch and Tilda is colored with Prismas and Gamsol (again)...seems to be the only result I'm happy with.

So far, I'm working with only images stamped for me by my blog-friend Carla (although, just yesterday, I recieved a few more lovelies from my blog-friend Dei in Ireland)...I've finally placed an order for some of my own. I really love coloring them up and playing with them. Hopefully it will arrive soon!

Having some fun with my Cricut

This card I did for the "Bitten by the Bug" Challenge this week. Which was to use the border cut from the Doodlecharms Cartridge. I went with the cupcakes for this one. Materials: Bazill Kraft paper; Bo Bunny Polka Dots PP; Katy's pearls; Kaiser gems; We R Memory Keepers PP; Bazill CS. I used my trusty sewing machine for the stitching on the cupcakes, Ranger Inks in several colors to edge the cupcakes; and stickles diamonds for the flames. I'm happy with the brightness of it...very birthday-ish!

My son Jonah has a birthday party to go to Friday night, so I needed a masculine card. Not so easy. So I pulled out my Wildcards Cartridge and used the star cut. It passed the "boys" inspection, so I guess it'll be given. I used Bazill CS; PP from my stash (unknown); Lyrical Letters Cart for the sentiment; and silver pearls from Michael's.

This pic shows it opened. I had a hard time getting these pics...the wind kept blowing the card over:)

This is my take on Kazan's Sketch this week. Mom is leaving for Holland on Monday...so I've got to sneak this into her suitcase sometime this weekend. Wish I was going with her, I could use a vacation right now. So, this week there was no sketch to work with, just the requirement that we use pink and green. No problem. Lots of both of those. So I thought...three of them ended up in the trash before I decided to go with this one. The colors aren't really true, its less harsh than it looks, but its overcast and gloomy here again...although, we did have 25 degree Celsius weather and SUN yesterday. I was out in my garden playing with worms and loving every minute of it!!! Materials: Premade card from Michaels, Basic Grey PP, BoBunny polka dots, Kaiser gems, Cricut Storybook Cartridgeand Lyrical Letters Cartridge, and Tilda is colored with Prismas and gamsol.

Here is my take on Laura's sketch this week...fun one to work with. The pic is not so great...we haven't seen sunshine here for a while now, and frankly, my mood is beginning to reflect the weather...cold and gloomy! Any how...complaining aside, I used Bazill CS, The Paper Co PP, Kaiser and Dollar store gems, K&Co flowers, Cricut Storybook for the flourishes, and unknown chipboard sentiment tag.

This one I did just for fun...I know its kind of "fallish", but these tend to be my favorite colors, so I went with it. Tilda is colored with Prismas and Gamsol. I used the sketch from Card Patterns this week to make the card, I'm not especially happy with the results so I won't submit it. Fun to try anyhow.

And a card using a couple of new Cricut Cartridges I bought this week...on sale at Michaels for $49.99 each (reg $119.99). A bargain I just couldn't pass up....especially since they are two I have really wanted on my shelf. The card shape is using the Wild Cards Cartridge, and the sentiment using the Lyrical Letters Cartridge (this one is sooooo awesome!).

Well, I'm off to do some housecleaning, more laundry (The most never-ending and thankless job on the entire planet I am sure!), and if I am lucky, I can do some tidying in my craft room--it is an absolute disaster!

Just Magnolia Challenge #1

There is a new Challenge Blog just starting up this week called "Just Magnolia". They are giving away an amazing prize this week to celebrate, so I thought I'd give it a try. I love these stamps...they can be done up so many different ways. This is my interpretation of the sketch.

Materials: Bazill CS, Basic Grey PP and pink button, K & Co tag, Prima Hydrangeas, Kaiser flower, homemade felt flower, Kaiser gemstones, dollar store twine, flower lace from my stash, unknown chipboard sentiment from my stash, and Tilda is colored with Prismas and Gamsol.

Here is my take on Kazan's sketch this week...pretty simple card...seem to pretty mojo-less these days. All work and no play is never a good thing I guess. I seem to spend a lot of time looking at papers and embellishments, but getting nothing done. This card uses Bazill cardstock, Basic Grey pp (Euphoria), Pink Paislee polka dots, K&Co flowers, Walmart button, AC thickers puffy alphas, and my brand new Fiskars border punch.

A Rachael Anne Miller stamp I recently purchased...so cute...Lexi loves it...so this will probably go to one of her friends. It seems to "cutesy" for an adult.

I made this Easter card for my mom...used one of the Magnolia images sent to me by Carla (thanks so much again Carla)...just never got it posted.

Josh's 16th birthday!!

I don't feel old enough to have a 16 year old...I remember the day we brought him home from the hospital like it was yesterday. What an adventure these last 16 years have been! I discovered, while making this card...that making a card for a 16 year old boy is not an easy task. I settled for this, and I know that he'll pretend to love it, even if he doesn't...for my sake. Not sure what to get him yet...that is not an easy task anymore either...he no longer appreciates Little Tykes:)

A RAK from Carla!!

I got some fun mail this week...a RAK from Carla Peicheff...not only did she send me the gorgeous Mother's Day Card that she made, she also stamped some Magnolias for me to play with. I don't have any of these stamps so these are great to have! I case'd her card, leaving the sentiment off...not sure what to put on it yet. Thanks so much Carla!!

My partner at work is off, having just had knee surgery, and we are collecting for a gift for her. I made this card for all to sign. The inside says "hope you are feeling better soon". I used the Chloe's Closet line of pp, bazill CS, Kaiser rhinestones, made the flowers with my Cricut and dry embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is computer generated.

This was a lot of fun. This is the card...colors aren't very realistic, it is pretty dark here in my kitchen, even with all the lights on. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie, Kaiser rhinestones, and misted the flowers for some sparkle.

My first Easter Card, you can't really tell from the pic, but the Bazill CS is actually a beautiful Royal Purple. I made this one for my daughter Lexi, she is a huge lover of purple. Once it was done though, I had no room to write Happy Easter...so it's on the inside. We do what we must to make it work right? This is one of the High Hopes stamps I bought a while ago...don't you think he's cute? I colored with Prismas and Gamsol, which is new for me, but I'm loving it.

It is DH's birthday tomorrow, and so I made a birthday card. He is a very difficult man to buy a present for...he goes out and gets what he needs/wants whenever he needs/wants it, but he is always happy with a home made card from his DW:) This year, I did manage to find something. I bought him 2 pairs of those plaid shorts all the guys are wearing and a couple of really nice Tommy Hilfiger Tshirts. He is the kind of guy who wears khaki cargos and black tshirts, and that's it. So, the kids and I have decided to drag him into the world of fashion, even if it has to be kicking and screaming. I'll let you know how that works out for us:)

Inside of the card. I used my Cricut Celebrations to cut both sentiments, and I think they're really cute.

Another Bella...pretty simple card really, but good one to have on hand for those last minute birthday parties...won't have to try to make one in 5 minutes!

It's officially spring!!

So, two days ago (the 19th) was officially the first day of spring...and it was snowing here! Very depressing after the endless winter. It is cold and dreary out there today. We did manage to get all the twigs and branches cleaned up out of our yard, and burned all the Christmas wreaths, etc. Still too early to get in the garden though. Which I am always itching to do as soon as the "Snow Whites" appear.
They always give me hope that eventually, I will have perennials blooming all over the place, and I can sit on the porch with my coffee and a good book and relax.

Speaking of relaxing...I have been a card-making machine this week. I took four days off, got all the laundry done, (even quilts, duvet covers, sofa pillow slips etc.) AND...I've been making cards. I have lots on hand for "just in case". This one, is using a sketch that Carla Peicheff posted on her blog. It really didn't turn out very "springy", but I'm still happy with it.

Spring Break Mojo!!

This is a card I made for Basic Grey Challenge, which is a cool blog. And Basic Grey is such awesome paper, I have so much of it! I love this line, Porcelain, it is so Romantic. The stickers came with the package. The CS is Bazill, and the rhinestones are from the dollar store. I could not believe this find...they came on cards like the more expensive ones...but cost only $1 per package...and there were so many colors...I cleaned them out in one swoop! The lace is some from my stock.

This card is for my sister....her birthday just passed....I missed it. Hopefully she'll forgive me. I'll tell her it is "sometimer's":)

New Bella stamp...cute isn't she? I have lots of friends who love to garden, as I do, so this seemed an appropriate one to pick.

Another card just for fun...using up some scraps on my very messy desk! I figure if I use them all up, I won't have to clean up. Probably backward thinking...but I'm gonna go with it anyway! Anyway, the kids and I are getting haircuts this afternoon, and then I hope to go upstairs and use up some more of those scraps. Spring break is great when your kids are a little older...they do their own thing...which leaves me to do mine! I can't remember the last time I made so many cards in one week. Now...just need to write some notes in them for friends and family I have been neglecting.

I was shopping yesterday (I know...shame on me! Like I need any more "stuff".) at one of my fav scrapbooking stores, and discovered they had recently gotten some High Hope Stamps in. Now, I don't actually do a lot of stamping anymore...I seem to have migrated into different areas...but these are so cute! So I bought a couple, and tried this one out. I'm not much of a colorer (is that a word?), and I'm not great at "cutesy"...but I had fun...so I'll pull out the others I bought soon, and hopefully make some different cards.

This stamp is from a clear stamp set...the company escapes me right now...and I feel to lazy to run upstairs to find out...so I won't. Unbelievable that in all the cards I have on hand...none is a birthday card suitable for a twelve year old girl. And since Lexi has a birthday party to attend tomorrow...I found myself having to make a card. I saw this design on Carla Peicheff's site (Moralia's weblog-see my sidebar), drew a rough sketch of it on a post-it note and took it upstairs to make. Carla is very good at "girly cards", so I CASE'd her card, with a couple of differences. Hers is much prettier, but I think Lexi's friend will be happy.

I have been home sick this week...doc says I have an ulcer...seems I have been bottling up some stress, which is not unusual for me this time of year...with winter stuff wrapping up, and spring stuff ramping up...I guess it all takes a toll. Couple that with too much work, and it makes for a very uncomfortable situation. So...I'm trying to relax, which is certainly not a natural state for me. Type A personality, that's me! Don't mean to whine...

I've had this pp for a while and just never knew what to do with it. When I saw Kazan's sketch, and started checking out my stash, I thought maybe it might work. I see lots of cards with black these days, and really love them, so I gave it a try. I know the pics do not do it justice...the true colors just don't come out in this dreary setting. Hopefully you get the jist though.

And here are my boys...in their new paintball jerseys. Josh designed these himself...and had them made up for the team. Jonah does not play, but often goes along to tournaments to be the "pod boy". (They have a different name for him, which is not nearly as nice, and which I refuse to call him:).

They actually look pretty cool I think. Although I know that is probably just a mother's "eye". Josh is 15, and already at least 5 inches taller than me, and Jonah, at 13, is looking me straight in the eye. Won't be long before I am the shortest person in the house. (I am 5'9"...no shorty myself!)

I am soooooo tired of winter! It is -13 degrees Celcius here today, and that is cold!! Now I know that this is actually a typical Canadian Winter, and and that we have been rather lucky for several years now, and I know that I shouldn't be complaining...but it really is beginning to feel like the winter that wouldn't end. So...enough complaining, I'll get to my cards. This one is my take on Laura's sketch this week. I played with many different flowers, but decided to "go big". The spring colors cheered me up, which I really need right now.

Champions Again! ...and I'm a Fab Five!

Here they are again...this time City wide champs in the B pool...not as prestigious, but just as exciting, as our little school has never made it this far! How awesome a year are they having!!!

Here's our star athlete...again...hope you aren't getting tired of reading about my kids...where else can I brag and get away with it?

And...speaking of bragging...I made it into the Fab Five over at the 2S4Y blog last week...I'm so excited! Funny thing is, I really wasn't pleased with the card I submitted, but thought since I'd gone to the trouble, I'd at least try. Funny how those things work out! I found this sketch difficult...but as I had a little time...into the wee hours of the morning...I gave it a try. I'm not sure if you can see this in the pics but I used genuine Swarovski crystals on the card. They were a big splurge of mine when they were on sale at Michael's a while ago. I am very stingy with them...but they REALLY catch the light like no rhinestone can do!

What's been keeping me so busy?

This is our daughter, Lexi. She is a competitive swimmer...in the pool 4 hours per week for practise...swim meets at least 1 per month, sometimes two. This is her first year swimming in competitive meets. She was nervous at first, but is coming home with ribbons from all her meets now. Which is awesome!

Jonah, our second son, plays every sport he can. Hockey has always been a favorite of his, and mine. In this picture, they just won the International Silver Stick Tournament (C division). This is huge for them...sort of like winning the Stanley Cup in the NHL. Now, regular season play is over, playdowns begin. Practise every week, plus an average of 3 games per week (during playdowns).

They won the Basketball Championship for the Christian Schools in our district (about 8 different schools)...this is the first time our school has won this in about 10 years, so it was very exciting for them. Sorry about the quality of the pics...the gym was very dark, and it was hard to get good pics. So, practise twice a week, and two games per week. Playoff games for the right to play in the Catholic School Championships begins this week.

Soccer practise has already begun for Jonah. Lexi will not start until May (thank goodness). School hockey practises begin next week (yes, a second team!). Lexi starts school basketball in the next couple of weeks as well. Josh (our oldest son), plays competitive paintball...practises once per week and a tournament per month. Also...we are hoping to be able to go to Chicago in June for a big tournament. His team is very excited! No pics of this, as winter paintball is always indoors, and it is impossible to get a decent pic without giving away his position to the "enemy", or getting myself or my camera covered in paint! Hopefully, I can get some this summer, at the outdoor tournaments.

I'm tired just writing it out....but I love it all! It is so much fun to see them having fun at things they love! How do your children keep you busy?

Finally...some time in my craft room!

This is the first time I got to play with a clear card, and I think I'm hooked. It was so much fun figuring out where to put things so the adhesive wouldn't show. It is just a simple card...maybe next time I'll try to be a little more corageous.

This card is one I saw on another blog, and I do apologize for this. I was definitely inspired by this artist's work, but I shamefully forgot to write down her name. So, if you are checking out my humble blog, and recognize this as your design, please leave me a comment so that I can give credit where it is due. Anyway, I'll probably give this to one of my sons for Valentine's day on Saturday...along with a gigantic Hershey's Kiss I picked up for them all yesterday.

This was my take on last week's 2S4Y challenge, which I never got to submit...done too late. I made the hearts the way I make my lollipop flowers, and added some bling. I think my husband will get this one.

The idea for this card came from Carla Piecheff's blog, I liked it so much I thought I'd give it a try. The back of the card slides open (attached by a brad) so I can still write inside. The hand stitching turned out so cute...I know that my daughter will love this one.

I've been tagged!

Actually, I was tagged a week or two ago, by my faithful blog follower, and good blogging friend, Deifen, in Ireland. Life has been busy, and this is the first time I have real time to sit at the computer (at home). The rules are as follows: 1. Navigate to where you take your pictures; select the sixth folder, and the sixth picture in that folder. 2. Post the picture on your blog with an explanation of that picture. 3. Tag 6 others to do the same, and let them know they have been tagged.

So, this is my picture...it is my middle son's hockey team, before the semi-final game at the International Silver Stick Competition. This was huge!!! They lost the final game at the Regional Silver Stick and would not even have been here, had a team from Texas not dropped out. This was their 5th game of the series, and up to this, they were undefeated! So, here they are...listening to their Captain give them some last words of encouragement. My son is #5. They won this game...and went on to win the finals and become the Champions!!!!

I have checked all my favorite blogs, and all of them have already been tagged in this game...so I won't tag anyone.

I'm not sure how many of you out there in the blogging world work nights...if you do, you will understand how difficult it is to get anything accomplished. It really does not matter how long you sleep, you are tired...I mean just always tired. The internal clock is never in agreement with what you are required to do. I'm making supper, when I want breakfast, and drinking coffee when I should be sleeping...its a pain in the butt! And I won't tell you what my house looks like, or how the laundry is piling up...and up! So, once again, nothing crafty happening at my house, but blogging for a minute tonight before I get my rounds started, and on one of my favorite sites Paula is offering some really awesome candy. Alright...I have finally taken down my Christmas decorations...I worked nights most of the holidays, and have been quite sick this week. Only now I find I have no creativity at all.
